ASD 70-03-077 - GEA Westfalia Separator Self-cleaning Disc separators

Self-cleaning disc separators distinguish themselves from the above solid-wall disc separators by how the separated solids are discharged. The solids are removed intermittently through openings in the bowl walls which in contrast to nozzle separators are only intermittently cleared by so-called pistons. Self-cleaning disc separators may be used both for clarifying and separating fluids.
