Separators for fruit and vegetable juices
Fruit juice clarification
Juice made with presses and decanters is still cloudy after production. In order to prevent negative impact on the juice, the materials causing such cloudiness must be removed as quickly as possible. Centrifugal clarifying separators are in particular suitable for the necessary pre-clarification of juices.

High-speed separators may be used for the fine clarification of raw juice depending on the desired cloudiness of vegetable juice to be produced.ices.
Citrus juice clarification
Separators used in the production of citrus fruit juices may in particular be employed in the downstream clarification of the citrus juice following its processing in juicers and finishers. They may also be used in the production of essential oils and in special procedures.
Removal of oil from direct juice
Direct juice frequently contains undesirable peel oil which may from a specific quantity create a bitter taste. This peel oil may also be removed with the help of special separators.
The production of essential oils
The essential oils contained in citrus fruit peel may be washed out with water and then separated in a two-stage centrifugal system into their individual components (water and essential oils).
Wax removal
Unwanted waxes may enter the oil phase during the production of essential oils. The so-called "winterization" process using a special separator may then be applied here to remove these waxes from the oil.
Pectin production
Decanters may be employed to remove raw extract produced with fresh fruit peel from the pomace; separators may then be used in a further stage to clarify this raw extract. Decanters may also be used following the subsequent precipitation process.
Clear lemon juice
Separators may be used here in advance juice clarification downstream of the finisher and in the shape of high-performance clarifying separators after fining.
Retentate treatment
So-called retentates will be produced if ultra-filtration is employed to achieve very fine clarification. These possess a high solid content which may concentrated to recover valuable juice using decanting technologies. Upstream special separators may be used to considerably extend the UF systems' cleaning intervals and increase their effectiveness.
