De-greasing / phosphating baths

Separators may be used in the metal-working industries to remove oil and solid particles from de-greasing and iron-phosphating baths in a single stage. This allows the baths to maintain their optimum cleaning effect while considerably increasing the media's lifespan.

Cooling lubricants

Solids, water and tramp oils must at an early stage be continuously removed from cooling emulsions if skin infections, unpleasant odours, the degradation of emulsifiers and the creation of acids is to be prevented. Separators with bypasses to central plants or individually filled machining centres are able to handle this requirement.

Used oil, lubricating and hydraulic oils

Centrifugal separating technologies may be used to separate water and solids from used oils that then do not have to be disposed of at additional cost but may continue to be used as, for example, valuable fuels. Foreign particles often cause systems to malfunction as well as corrosion and blockages particularly when contained in lubricating and hydraulic oils. Separators may be used here to ensure that water and tiny particles of dirt are continuously removed from such media.

Waste-water treatment

High-speed separators may be used for the very fine clarification of sewage and the separation of light phases (e.g. fat phase) from flows of waste water.

De-greasing / phosphating baths

Three-phase decanters may be used in the metal-working industries to remove oil and solid particles from de-greasing and iron-phosphating baths in a single stage. This allows the baths to maintain their optimum cleaning effect and considerably increases the media's lifespan. Two-stage decanters may be used to separate solids from zinc-phosphating baths.

Paint sludge

Decanters may also be used to remove water from water- or solvent-based paints. The benefit here is that operation is continuous and fully automatic.

Waste-water treatment

Decanters may be used to remove larger quantities of undesirable solids from waste water.

Removal of water / concentration of sludge

The commercial priority here is to remove most of the water from sludge so that its quantity is reduced. Continuously operating decanting procedures are very suitable for this requirement.

Recycling

Recycling systems usually employ a phase that recovers valuable materials from a washing phase. For instance, pusher centrifuges may be used during the recycling of old tyres and worm-screen centrifuges may be used in the recycling of cable scrap to name but two examples.
